“Lower
back pain affects your whole life, sitting, walking, sleeping – then through a
friend I heard about Moira – for about two and half years she kept me feeling
like a normal human being. When she
moved south I was sorely tempted to move too but unfortunately have to remain
here for work.
Moira’s
treatment mostly for my back and neck, partly due to an accident many years ago
and also due to being an infant teacher (low desks and chairs) gave me back a
quality of life I thought had gone for good.”

“I
spend a great deal of time either driving or sitting at a computer desk. The muscles in my legs and lower back
appeared not to appreciate this work pattern and I was plagued with pain. Once I ‘found’ Moira and began visiting her
on a regular basis the pain disappeared and is only now reappearing some three
months after my last visit.
Aberdeenshire’s loss is the Border’s gain.” M Ramsay
“Remedial
massage – what has it done for me? Quite
simply, at a point when my life was no fun, to put it mildly, it turned things
around for me I was experiencing wave after wave, after wave of relentless,
unremitting pain shooting down my leg. I
couldn’t stand, couldn’t sit, couldn’t walk far, couldn’t lie, couldn’t drive – you get the picture I’m sure.
After
my first treatment life didn’t miraculously turn ‘normal’ again, but there was
an improvement. That improvement has
continued and progressed over last few months and I am now at a stage where I can
believe that there is indeed life after sciatica!” J Whyte

“Moira Watson has worked and delivered several ‘Massage’ and ‘Health and
Well Being’ sessions and instruction workshops for the Community Learning and
Development programme in the Buchan area over the last four years. These included initial contact and taster
sessions, celebration of learning events, health fairs, managing stress and
pampering workshops.
Moira
was a very popular therapist and had a sound understanding of the aims and
outcomes of each session and event. She
was very aware of the need for confidentiality and privacy when dealing with
adult learners. She is accepting,
sensitive and empathic, when dealing with vulnerable participants. She made her sessions pleasurable, relaxing
and fun for everyone who took part.
Moira can think ‘out of the box’.
Workshops in groups and one to ones were informative, versatile and
flexible. Moira has an enormous amount
of energy and can successfully deliver short massage sessions, e.g. head and
shoulders for up to 20 learners in succession at taster events and non-formal
learning events.
Workshops
were particularly well received with consistent positive feedback from
learners. They were always well planned,
organised and thought out. She was an
informative, intuitive and practical tutor who encouraged learners to try new
activities and learning methods. The
content was relevant for the target groups who attended the sessions. Moira researched and planned each session
thoroughly to ensure participants got the most out of them. She was always well equipped and took health
and safety issues seriously. Handouts
and follow up material were suitable and well prepared.
Moira
worked very well with other tutors and as part of a team when delivering taster
sessions in collaboration with others.
She is a generous and giving colleague who will be greatly missed in the
Buchan area.” L Scott
