About Essence
Moira M Watson established her practice Essence in 2002, having spent the previous 3 years training, studying and developing her knowledge and skills in Massage Therapies. This is a second career for Moira and the services Essence provides draw on her skills and experience as a professional Advanced Remedial Massage Practitioner as well as her extensive 20+ years experience gained in a range of roles in education and training across public, voluntary and private sectors.
Essence comprises a range of services: -
- A busy, thriving private practice ~ clinic in Duns
- Corporate Work ~ Massage Therapy in the Workplace ~ services tailored to meet the specific needs of companies with regard to employees, managers and employers. Many companies incorporate Massage Therapy in the workplace as part of their health at work policies.
- Interactive Workshops written and designed for companies, community and other groups or individuals. These address subjects from stress management and massage therapy in general, to specific uses of complementary therapies.
- A Support and Guidance service for therapists, ranging from those who are newly qualified to those who are perhaps returning to practise after a long break; and the provision of Continuing Professional Development opportunities for practising therapists
- Presentations or talks tailored to suit a broad range of organisations and groups.
- Moira is also Principal of Borders School of Massage, where she delivers Diploma courses in Swedish Massage, Remedial and Sports Massage, On-Site Massage, Indian Head Massage and a variety of training and ‘interest’ opportunities open to all and specifically for practising therapists. She is also a freelance tutor and Course Leader with Scottish Massage Schools Ltd, teaching massage techniques and lecturing in massage practise and techniques; anatomy, physiology and pathology – on a range of Diploma courses.
